Apple Pie Bread – Week 33

Merry Christmas!!  I hope that you all had a wonderful and merry Christmas and were able to spend it with the ones you love.  We had a fun filled day yesterday with family, food, and presents a plenty.

As I am sure you very well know, Christmas is a very busy time of year.  For that reason, I was trying to find something quick, easy, and a little bit festive to bake this week.  At first I was leaning towards a pound cake or Buche de Noel, but I didn’t have all of the ingredients on hand for the pound cake and thought the Buche de Noel might be a little tricky for the short amount of time I had.  Enter in this delicious Apple Pie Bread!  This recipe was fairly simple, and once the apples and walnuts were cut up, it was finished in a flash.  It turned out to be pretty delicious! Apple Pie Bread | thelittlebluemixer

To start off, I creamed together the butter and sugar.  Then, I alternated adding in different ingredients and beating the batter.Apple Pie Bread | thelittlebluemixer

(I guess this week will have to be a special edition of The Little Green Mixer!  How appropriate for Christmas!?  Thanks, Mom, for letting me use your kitchen!)

When the batter was finished, I poured it into my loaf pan and started working on a streusel-nut topping for the bread.  The topping was a mixture of butter, brown sugar, flour, and walnuts.  It added a delicious crusty topping for the bread that definitely took it to the next level.Apple Pie Bread | thelittlebluemixerApple Pie Bread | thelittlebluemixerMmm.  So tasty.

The bread was very flavorful and moist.  It would be perfect for breakfast or afternoon tea!Apple Pie Bread | thelittlebluemixerI have thoroughly enjoyed the quick breads section of this cookbook.  So far all of the recipes have been delicious and fast, just as advertised. 🙂  Apple Pie Bread | thelittlebluemixer Apple Pie Bread | thelittlebluemixer
