Merry Christmas!! I hope that you all had a wonderful and merry Christmas and were able to spend it with the ones you love. We had a fun filled day yesterday with family, food, and presents a plenty.
As I am sure you very well know, Christmas is a very busy time of year. For that reason, I was trying to find something quick, easy, and a little bit festive to bake this week. At first I was leaning towards a pound cake or Buche de Noel, but I didn’t have all of the ingredients on hand for the pound cake and thought the Buche de Noel might be a little tricky for the short amount of time I had. Enter in this delicious Apple Pie Bread! This recipe was fairly simple, and once the apples and walnuts were cut up, it was finished in a flash. It turned out to be pretty delicious!
Flour and salt…
(I guess this week will have to be a special edition of The Little Green Mixer! How appropriate for Christmas!? Thanks, Mom, for letting me use your kitchen!)
When the batter was finished, I poured it into my loaf pan and started working on a streusel-nut topping for the bread. The topping was a mixture of butter, brown sugar, flour, and walnuts. It added a delicious crusty topping for the bread that definitely took it to the next level.Mmm. So tasty.
The bread was very flavorful and moist. It would be perfect for breakfast or afternoon tea!I have thoroughly enjoyed the quick breads section of this cookbook. So far all of the recipes have been delicious and fast, just as advertised. 🙂
Thank you all so much for coming by today, and I hope that you continue to enjoy this wonderful Christmas season!
I will be linking this post to Fiesta Friday, so be sure to stop by and see some more delicious treats over there!
